Bonnie Fanelli, OD, Partner

Dr. Bonnie Fanelli graduated from South Johnston High school in Four Oaks, NC in 1975. Following graduation, Dr. Fanelli received her Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from University of North Carolina- Chapel Hill. She worked at University of South Carolina and University of Delaware before going to Philadelphia College of Optometry. In 1985, Dr. Fanelli graduated from PCO with clinical honors. Bonnie opened her first private practices in Carolina Beach and Leland.

Jenny Warwick, OD, Partner

Dr. Jenny Hines Warwick is a native Wilmingtonian who graduated with honors from Southern College of Optometry in May 2015. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, where she also served as Captain of the UNCW Dance Team. Dr. Warwick completed three externships in 2014-2015, earning honors pass scores, and was recognized for clinical excellence during her rotations. In September 2015, she opened Seashore Eye Associates with Dr. Bonnie Fanelli, fulfilling her dream of offering eye care in her hometown.

Jessica Stephenson, OD, Partner

Dr. Jessica Stephenson is a native of Benson, NC where she graduated with honors from South Johnston High School. She attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and a minor in Mathematics. In May 2011, she received her Doctorate of Optometry at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. Dr. Stephenson has been practicing in the Wilmington area since 2012 and has special interests in ocular disease and contact lenses, including scleral contact lens fittings.

Dr. Kendall Cooper

Kendall Cooper, OD

Dr. Kendall Cooper is a compassionate optometrist dedicated to providing personalized eye care for patients of all ages. Originally from Florida, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Florida State University before graduating cum laude from Southern College of Optometry in 2026. Her clinical training spans primary care, pediatrics, ocular disease, low vision, and vision therapy, including service trips to Ecuador and Belize with SVOSH and an externship at the U.S. Air Force Academy. Outside the office, she enjoys the beach, travel, and making memories with family and friends.

Dr. Melissa Cuan

Melissa Cuan, OD, FAAO

Dr. Melissa Cuan, OD, FAAO, is a native of New York who earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychobiology from Binghamton University and her Doctor of Optometry from SUNY College of Optometry in 2013. She completed a residency in Primary Care and Ocular Disease at the VA Hudson Valley Health Care System, then served as an Optometry Attending at the VA Connecticut Healthcare System. Practicing in North Carolina since 2020, Dr. Cuan is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. Outside the office, she enjoys the beach and trying new restaurants with her husband and two boys.

About Dr. Cuan

Dr. Melissa Cuan, OD, FAAO, is a native of New York. She attended Binghamton University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychobiology. After graduating, she went on to attend the State University of New York (SUNY) College of Optometry in New York, NY, earning her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2013. During her time there, she volunteered on two medical mission trips to Mexico. Dr. Cuan completed an optometric residency in Primary Care and Ocular Disease at the VA Hudson Valley Health Care System in Montrose, NY. She then joined the VA Connecticut Healthcare System as an Optometry Attending, where she further honed her skills in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of ocular disease while supervising students and residents.

Dr. Cuan has been practicing in North Carolina since 2020. She is an active member of the American Optometric Association, the North Carolina Optometric Society, the Southeastern District, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. Outside of the office, Dr. Cuan enjoys spending time at the beach and trying new restaurants with her husband and two boys. She is excited to be part of the team at Seashore Eye Associates and to serve the people of Wilmington.

About Dr. Cooper

Dr. Kendall Cooper is a compassionate optometrist dedicated to providing personalized eye care for patients of all ages. Originally from Florida, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Florida State University in 2020. She went on to graduate cum laude from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee, earning her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2026.

During her clinical training, Dr. Cooper gained experience in primary care, pediatrics, ocular disease, low vision, contact lenses, and vision therapy. As a member of SVOSH (Student Volunteers in Optometric Service to Humanity), she provided eye care to underserved communities during service trips to Ecuador and Belize. Dr. Cooper also completed an externship at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, where she provided comprehensive eye care and performed flight qualification examinations for military personnel. Her final externship was at Family Optometry in Chandler, Arizona, where she further developed her interest in functional vision and pediatric eye care.

Outside of the office, Dr. Cooper enjoys spending time at the beach, traveling, exploring new places, and making memories with family and friends.

About Dr. Stephenson

Dr. Jessica Stephenson is a native of Benson, NC where she graduated with honors from South Johnston High School. She attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and a minor in Mathematics. In May 2011, she received her Doctorate of Optometry at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. While there she was active in the North Carolina Student Optometric Association, Fellowship of Christian Optometrists, traveled on medical mission trips to Nicaragua and also completed an externship at a refractive surgery co-management center in Denver, CO. She then went on to complete a residency in Primary Eye Care at the Memphis VA Medical Center where she received extensive training in ocular disease, treatment and management.

Dr. Stephenson has been practicing in the Wilmington area since 2012 and has special interests in ocular disease and contact lenses, including scleral contact lens fittings. She is an active member of the American Optometric Association, North Carolina State Society and Southeastern District. Jessica loves spending time with her daughter, Maia, and enjoys being active and on the water as much as possible. She is excited to be the newest member of the Seashore Eye Associates team and looks forward to continuing to provide quality eye care for the people of Wilmington.

About Dr. Warwick

Dr. Jenny Hines Warwick is a native Wilmingtonian who graduated with honors from Southern College of Optometry in May 2015. Dr. Warwick received her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry at the University of North Carolina in Wilmington. While at UNCW, Jenny was a member of the UNCW Dance Team where she served as Captain in her senior year. After graduating from UNC-Wilmington, Dr. Warwick moved to Memphis, TN to pursue her doctorate in Optometry. While in her first year of optometry school, Dr. Warwick was nominated by faculty optometrists for Student Ambassador. During her clinical rotations, Dr. Warwick received an award for her clinical excellence at the Southern College of Optometry homecoming. Dr. Warwick completed three externships in 2014-2015, receiving honors pass scores. Her externship rotations included Womack Army Hospital in Fort Bragg, NC and Eye Care Center in Wilmington, NC. Dr. Warwick’s final externship was in Memphis, TN at The Eye Center of Southern College of Optometry. In September 2015, Dr. Warwick opened Seashore Eye Associates with Dr. Bonnie Fanelli.

Currently, Jenny is a member of the American Optometric Association, North Carolina State Optometric Society, and the Southeastern District. She served as Co-President of the NC Southeastern Optometry District for two years. Dr. Warwick is also partnered with Veterans Affairs to provide eye care to our local military veterans.

Jenny loves living in Wilmington with her husband, Rob Warwick, and their two sons, Banks and Hunter. She is excited to continue her dream of offering eye care to those who live in her hometown.

About Dr. Fanelli

Dr. Bonnie Fanelli graduated from South Johnston High school in Four Oaks, NC in 1975. She worked at University of South Carolina and University of Delaware before going to Philadelphia College of Optometry. In 1985, Dr. Fanelli graduated from PCO with clinical honors. Bonnie opened her first private practices in Carolina Beach and Leland. She has served Wilmington and surrounding areas for the past thirty years at multiple practice locations.

Bonnie Fanelli has two children: Caroline, born in 1985, and Grayson, born in 1988. Bonnie enjoys singing in the choir and serving as an Elder at Carolina Beach Presbyterian Church. She is also a member of the American Optometric Association, North Carolina State Optometric Society, and Southeastern District.
